WEAVING A SENSE OF PLACE
These fibre pieces have been created as a tactile way of engaging
with the sensations and memories of an experienced landscape.
In this instance, the palm garden oasis of Tamnougalt in the Draa Valley, southern Morocco.
Sculptural and contemplative; at the moment they are hanging on a wall and may transform in the future;
they are simply recordings or journeys; paths of sensory experience.
Materials include - dyed and natural, hand spun wool - leather,
African block printed cotton, date palm fibre, palm fronds, date stalks, string and silk.
