What is the weather like?
- I would like to reassure you that I have found Morocco to be a generally safe and welcoming country.
- I am currently living peacefully in Essaouira and have been for eight years.
- While on a trip with me in Morocco, you have my on-the-ground knowledge.

- Please allow your common sense to prevail; all travel, whether in your own country or overseas requires some degree of caution.
Is there a dress code for Morocco?
- Presentation always helps create a hassle free holiday.
- Women and men show respect by being neat and tidy in dress and not displaying too much skin.
What currency do I use in Morocco?
- MOROCCAN DIRHAM - 100 MAD = approx. $15 AUD
- Australian dollars CANNOT be exchanged in Morocco.
- ATM's are widely available and are the safest and easiest way to access cash.
- You can withdraw a max. of 2,000 MAD each transaction (up to 3 withdrawals daily)
- Most major credit cards are accepted in Morocco and are handy for buying that special purchase - for example, a rug or jewellery.
- Please remember to notify your bank and/or credit card issuing company of your intention to travel.
- You can buy Euros or USD's in Australia before you go and exchange some for dirham at the airport when you arrive in Morocco.
- There is also a money Exchange near our Riad in Marrakech and several in Essaouira.
- You will notice a general lack of small change in Morocco. Try to maintain a supply of coins and small denomination notes.
If needed, are there pharmacies in Morocco?
- Yes, well stocked and everywhere. Most medications are available over the counter - no prescription required.
- Names and information are generally in French. It helps to know the active ingredient you are after rather than a brand name.
What are the toilets like in Morocco?
- While on the road our comfort stops are clean and generally have pedestal toilets.
- All our accommodation has clean and adequate bathrooms.
- Carry tissues with you as sometimes toilet paper is not always available in public restrooms.
- Public toilets cost 2 DH - 30c
How many people will be on my trip?
- My journeys are small and intimate for everyone's enjoyment - a maximum of 6 people.

What is the food like in Morocco?
- Delicious! Fresh and seasonal food is available everywhere.
- There are places that offer vegetarian and gluten free options.
- The average price of a tagine is between 60 and 80 DH (Dinner can be less than $20 AUD)
- Coffee and fresh juices are 20-30 DH
Can I drink the tap water?
- I recommend that you don't.
- Bottled water is available everywhere throughout Morocco.
What power adapter is needed in Morocco?
- Morocco uses the same two-prong plug as used in Europe (CEE7/16 standard)
Is there wifi and can I use my mobile?
- There is free wifi in all our accommodation. Cafes also allow you access to wifi.
- For your mobile phone - you may choose to purchase a Moroccan SIM at any number of outlets.
- Whatsapp, Skype and Messenger are the methods I use to communicate with Australia.
What is the weather like?
- Morocco is considered a cold country with a hot sun.
- You can check the monthly weather history of the places we will be visiting on the Accu Weather website.
- We will be in mountain, desert and coastal regions where the humidity levels are dramatically different.
- Layers are your best option.
